The Fishing Edge: Lafitte
I refer to my Lafitte Edge area as the location in the southeast Louisiana marsh in St. Charles, Lafourche and Jefferson parishes between the Bayou Segnette launch in Westwego, La., Lakes Cataouatche and Salvador, areas in the Lake Salvador Game Management Area, southwest ward to Bayou Bayous Gauche and des Allemands, Lac des Allemands and Bayou Boeuf and eastward towards The Pen and Bayou Du Pont and continuing south to the northern part of Barataria Bay.
There are locations in Bayous Perot and Rigolettes, Little Lake, Mud lake and along the Barataria Waterway. There are over 180 Edge waypoints that cover prime FRESH WATER as well as numerous salt and brackish locations that offers a very wide assortment of fishing.
As an example, the Edge has locations such as the ten feet deep hole in Bayou Dosgrirs. Nearby it has the old location of Plum Point, now a reef, and the old island now also a reef on the west side of Bay L’Ours. In the western part of Lake Salvador I have defined the Bois Chactas Shell Bank. In the northern part of Barataria Bay I indicated that waypoint
These are just some of the locations that are in the Lafitte Fishing Edge, as I said there are over 180 additional locations.
